Claiming an Open Opportunity

An Opportunity is a referral that needs to be filled. An Open Opportunity is an opportunity exchange method that a NuOp member can use when they do not know who to send their opportunity (referral) to.  In other words, if a NuOp Member has a client referral and needs help to find the right candidate for their opportunity, the open opportunity method is used. Open Opportunities, without chosen candidates, are labeled as "Available" in the Opportunity Feed.

  1.  In the opportunity feed, you will see Opportunities labeled as “Available”.

  2. View the Opportunity details by clicking on “Available”.

  3. Sign Up or Login. If you are Signing Up, make sure your phone and email are verified.

  4. Once reviewing the details, if you are still interested, hit “Claim”.

Sometimes you claim an opportunity through a link like this one: If you are already a member of NuOp and are signed in, the link you received should bring you directly to the opportunity to officially claim it.  You can also copy and paste the link  into your browser. If those options are not available or the link does not bring you right to the opportunity then please refer to the instructions/video below for claiming an opportunity manually.

How will I know if I was chosen for the Opportunity?

Once a Member claims the open opportunity that Member now becomes a candidate for that opportunity.  The Member who created the open opportunity, or Opportunity Creator,  is notified of the new candidate, reviews his or her profile, and contacts the candidate directly as they see fit.  Members who become candidates for an open opportunity are also encouraged to reach out to the Sending Party directly to ensure the relationship is off to a good start.

At this point the destiny of the opportunity is in the hands of the Opportunity Creator.  Once a candidate is chosen all candidates for the open opportunity are notified as to whether or not they received the open opportunity.

All Members are encouraged to enable push notifications from the NuOp mobile app from their mobile device because any open opportunity which occurs in their marketplace, for their profession, automatically creates a push notification to the respective mobile app.  It's important to enable push notifications from NuOp to receive the most up-to-date opportunities available. You can also upgrade your membership to receive priority in claiming open opportunities.
